Ear piercing scenario?

So i got my ears pierced last year and one night the stud of the earring got pushed into my ear lobe and i had to go to the doctors to remove it. I'm thinking of getting my ears pierced again but im afraid the same scenario might happen again. So I have 2 questions; Where can i get my ears pierced for a low price besides Claire's in Dallas, Texas? And is there anyway i can avoid that Scenario?
